Opening hours

Sovereign Hill is open to the general public Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Online pre-booking is required.

To ensure Sovereign Hill is safe and secure, sanitisation stations and clear social distancing signage are active throughout the site. In line with Victorian Government requirements, visitors aged eight years and over are required to wear a mask in all indoor areas unless an approved exception applies. This includes mine tours.

Children under 5 years are free.

Family (2 Adults and up to 4 Children) – $99.00

Sovereign Hill is a comfortable 90-minute drive from Melbourne along the Western Highway.

Public transport
Direct from Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station, hop on the V/Line train and arrive in less than 90 minutes at the historic Ballarat Railway Station in the centre of town. From here you can catch bus route 21. Plan your full journey with Public Transport Victoria.
